How does it work to hire a personal trainer?

1. Once you have decided to break free of all your barriers and hire a personal trainer, the first step will be to meet with a member of our team to discuss your goals, history, preferred training modalities, concerns and other initial details. This is the perfect opportunity to get to meet your trainer, ask any question you may have, get to know who you will be working with and ensure there is good chemistry before signing up for any training package.

2. Then, a fitness evaluation is performed to determine the starting levels for your training program and track your progress. This complete evaluation consists of body testing (weight, girth measurements, body fat percentage and blood pressure), performance assessment (cardiovascular, strength, balance and flexibility), posture and movement assessment.

Your trainer will use this assessment to design the specifics of YOUR customized fitness program: the exercises that will correct YOUR muscle imbalances; the stretches that will prevent any injuries waiting to happen, the appropriate exercise prescription to effectively improve your different fitness areas according to your specific goals. The customized program design is crucial to enabling your body to become stronger, instead of a carelessly planned training program that does not make progress towards your goals.

3. And this is when the fun begins! Your trainer will take you through each training session, providing a supportive and comfortable learning environment, coaching cues, advice on exercise technique, posture, alignment and proper breathing. She will help you understand how to monitor your effort at specified intensity levels. As the program progresses, your trainer will adjust the intensity of your program as needed and ensure you are moving towards your fitness goals.
