Training with Mylene for my climb to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro was the best thing I did to prepare myself. In a situation where altitude sickness, sleep deprivation and exhaustion came into play, I felt great knowing I had the physical strength and endurance to overcome these difficulties and could face each day with confidence and energy.

Goal: stand-up paddle board conditioning

I started training with Equilibrium because I had a goal of competing in stand-up paddle board races and I knew I had to improve my stamina and strength.  After a very short period of time training with Mylene, I already started seeing results.   Mylene designed an impressive gym workout that totally replicated all the stand-up paddle movements and allowed me to condition my body for the sport, even when I wasn't in the water.  My workouts were varied, fun and challenging.  They sure have proven their effectiveness when I finished 3rd in Victoria and Comox races and 1st in my age category for the "Paddle Around The Rock", a 21-mile race around Mercer Island in Seattle.  I couldn't have done it without Mylene's precious expertise and guidance.  I highly recommend Equilibrium to anybody wanting to have... just a little more fun out there!

After undergoing cervical disc surgery and fusion in 2003 I was unable to swing a golf club for over three years……so disappointing when golf had been the major activity that my husband and I shared. Working with Mylene as my personal trainer for the past three and a half years has helped me to deal with chronic pain and my fitness goals in a way that I could not have ever foreseen! Now I am back golfing eighteen holes and my game is almost where it was prior to the surgery. I credit Mylene’s expertise, patience and positive energy with my return to the game I love. I started working out with Mylene of Equilibrium Fitness four years ago when my fitness level was in a big slump. I was bored of my gym workout that didn't change or give me the results I was looking for. When I started working out with Mylene we discussed what my fitness goals were and what type of program I would like. She has surpassed my expectations! My workouts are always challenging, interesting, fun, exciting and of course give me great results in my fitness and weight loss plan. Mylene's program's challenge my brain as well as my body. Just as my body and brain have started to get used to a workout, she changes it up! Always keeping it interesting and fun! Mylene's training style is a balance of slightly pushing me out of my comfort zone (when I need it) and easing back when I've been injuryed or phsyically challenged. Mylene is a great motivator, who makes you feel like even small fitness goals are worthwhile. She's always enthusiastic about getting outside and doing something active; one of my favourite moments during the teacher strike was when she gathered us all up on an impromptu workout while we were walking the picket line. We got some funny looks from passing motorists, but it showed me that you can take time here and there for fitness - it doesn't have to be complicated to feel good.
